Benin
The administrative capital is the city of Cotonou. It borders Togo to the west, Nigeria to the east and Burkina Faso and Niger to the north. It has a short coastline to the south along the Atlantic Ocean (Gulf of Guinea). Known as Dahomey until 1975, Benin has a total population of about 8.5 Million people with French as the official spoken language. Benin has a large collection of cultural and historical monuments for the great delight of the visitor.
